I try to look at myself like an outsider. How would the 'ideal me' see the 'real me' when I am with a girl?

At first the 'ideal me' was disgusted. She really thought I was a filthy animal. Never during the passionate acts (as that would ruin my mood) but usually the next day or the next moment I have alone with myself.

Naturally the more I did these acts the less severe in judgment the 'ideal me' was to my behavior. Why? Because as humans we are very adaptable. We adapt to good and bad. This is why homosexuality is not accepted as natural by many different groups. The simple fact that something is done whether by a large number of people or even animals does not necessarily make it "natural." Especially when it is not the norm.

People may ask, But what about those bad things that feels so good/so right...so natural?

Now thats where we get confused. We start talking to ourselves, trying to makes sense of our morals/ethics/religion and our strong emotions and repeated behavior which to us comes so readily. We can either...

A. accept that it is bad and do it
anyway.

B. change our views (gradually)and accept it as a part of ourselves. We can call this part good, bad or neither.

C. We quit doing it all together in adherence with our convictions.

I know that there is probably nobody in here who has come from such a "liberal" background to have never struggled with their sexuality. Who have accepting friends and family and live an open life with no consequences.

This is the ultimate question we face. Are we wrong and if so, how can we avoid being wrong? Can we? Should we? Are there real consequences? Are the consequences in the next life real?


Everyone has to answer for themselves in the end. All I can say is just be honest with yourself and others as to your state of mind (which for many is constantly changing) so you don't add more confusion to the equation.

You two have raised important points about this topic. But let me make few things clear. Animals do what they do not because they lack intelligent, rational thinking which is the case, but because they act instinctively. They eat to survive, they copulate to breed, and they fight to protect themselves, their kind, and their habitat. These behaviours are encoded in their DNA and are controlled by their physiology. Therefore, their behaviour is part of their nature and we can not say that animals do certain revolting things like incest because they do not have intelligence and so they choose to do it. On the other hand, we humans do things out of choice. We can go against our nature not because of instinct but because we choose to. For instance, a lot of the people run off to the plastic surgeons when they spot some ugliness or signs of old age to change and go against their nature. However, there are things which we also do instinctively and just like the animals which are encoded in our DNA or controlled by our physiology. Sexual attraction is of course one of these things which also include homosexual feelings and all that goes with it. So what the Scientist is saying is that: when, a human behaviour is also found within the animal kingdom, it has an evolutionary basis and is part and parcel of our physiological make up.
