RuPaul’s Drag Race has aired in 23 countries. A fourth season has just been commissioned. The show’s eponymous host also fronts the spin-off series RuPaul’s Drag U and recently released his fifth studio album. RuPaul conquered masculine America with a combination of flawless drag, ruthless one-liners and attitude-laden dance music. Laurence Watts caught up with America’s first drag superstar.

Gay's The Word bookshop hit in night of rioting

A GAY bookshop in Bloomsbury was attacked in what staff believe was a homophobic hate crime during a night of riots in London. Gay's the Word, the country's only LGBT bookshop, in Marchmont Street, was left with smashed windows after coming under attack at around 12.30am this morning (Monday).

American Psychological Association calls for gay marriage

The world’s largest body of psychologists, the American Psychological Association, has called for state and federal officials to lift barriers to marriage equality. Members at the group’s annual meeting in Washington voted unanimously on Wednesday to back “full marriage equality for same-sex couples”.

Sao Paulo City Council Approves 'Heterosexual Pride Day'

With around 3 million participants, Sao Paulo's gay-pride parade is one of the biggest in the world. Maybe someone was feeling left out. The council of the Brazilian city has approved legislation to establish Heterosexual Pride Day on the third Sunday of December each year.

Potential jurors shouldn't be dismissed for being gay, court told

Trial lawyers should be barred from dismissing potential jurors because of their sexual orientation, defense attorneys argued Thursday in a case that, if successful, could extend constitutional protection from discrimination to homosexuality along with race, creed and gender.
