Xxx are rotten - King Zwelithini Print E-mail
Posted by Administrator
Human Rights Watch on Monday said derogatory comments about gay people were only fuelling the often violent discrimination they suffer. At the weekend, Zulu monarch King Goodwill Zwelithini reportedly labelled homosexuals as "rotten", saying their lifestyles were "wrong" and went against tradition.

Human Rights Watch on Sunday released its annual report and drew attention to a slide in gay rights across the African continent

Senior researcher Tiseke Kasambala said, “Here in South Africa, black lesbians and transgendered men continue to face discrimination in townships. They continue to be victimised despite the protection that has been promised to them in the constitution."

Former president Thabo Mbeki criticised an anti-gay bill in Uganda saying what people do in their privacy of their homes was not a matter of state intervention.
