We are pleased to announce that the Somali Gay Community website have been nominated for a Black LGBT Community Awards.

Hosted on a luxury Thames cruiser, the awards are a stylish occasion for Black LGBT people and their friends to meet, mingle and be entertained as well as to show their appreciation for those that have offered support, broken down barriers or been an inspiration to their community.



Advocacy
- Who has made the biggest impact on ensuring that Black LGBT communities are represented in society and that their rights are protected?

Health Promotion - Who has made the biggest impact in delivering support for members of Black LGBT communities' health and well-being?

Communications - Who has helped Black LGBT communities communicate with each other and with wider communities?

Community Development - Who has worked hardest to support Black LGBT people in building a community and playing their role as active citizens?

Arts - Who has made a big impact in using the arts/media to share the stories of Black LGBT people?

Club of the year - What club night has been the best for Black LGBT people in the UK over the past year?

Man of the year and Woman of the year - Who has made a real difference to the lives of Black LGBT people over a long period of time?

Voting ends on Tuesday 9 September at 9am.

You can also purchase your tickets here . Tickets cost just £15 (Limited number of £10 concessions available for unwaged) and include a full 3-course meal, Champagne reception and entry to the exclusive after-party.
